Job summary

ALTEN Group is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Life Sciences team and support a key pharmaceutical client. You will drive CAPEX projects from conception through commissioning, covering preprocessing, compounding, formulation and filling of aseptic products.

You will initiate business cases, manage budgets, engage suppliers, and ensure alignment with cost, schedule, quality and functionality requirements. Strong English and Dutch skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years engineering experience, with at least 2 years managing CAPEX projects in a regulated environment.
• Experience in pharmaceutical aseptic production is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of preprocessing, compounding, formulation and filling processes and project controls.
• Proactive, hands-on collaboration with excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are currently looking for a Process Engineer to join our Life Sciences team and support one of our key clients in the pharmaceutical industry.

Main responsibilities:

• Execute CAPEX projects involving preprocessing, compounding, formulation and filling of aseptic products.
• Initiate projects and develop business cases in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Source and engage with suppliers, manage equipment ordering, conduct design reviews, and oversee FAT/SAT, commissioning and IQ/OQ/PQ testing to ensure timely start-up of equipment.
• Manage project budgets and schedules across multiple departments.
• Serve as subject matter expert for preprocessing, compounding, and filling processes.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and evaluate alternative technologies.
• Define and execute project strategies in line with cost, schedule, quality, and functionality requirements.

Required skills:

• Master's or PhD in Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering, including at least 2 years managing CAPEX projects in a regulated environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry and aseptic production.
• Strong knowledge of preprocessing, compounding, formulation and filling processes, as well as project management practices including contract management and project controlling.
• Proactive, hands-on approach with strong collaboration, organizational, and communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Dutch.
