Job summary

NXP Semiconductors Belgium in Leuven is seeking a Principal System Engineer to lead the architectural definition, design and implementation of complex embedded systems for next-generation semiconductor products.

You will drive system-level architecture, collaborate with hardware, software and verification teams, and develop test plans, documentation and IP contributions to ensure performance and reliability across platforms.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in system engineering with embedded systems focus.
• Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level architecture definition and design for semiconductor products.
• Prepare technical documentation, datasheets, white papers, and demos.
• Collaborate with hardware, software and verification teams for integration.
• Develop and implement system-level test plans and strategies.
• Contribute to IP generation and patent disclosures.
• Benchmark competitors and perform product trade-offs.
