Ghent University invites applications for a post-doctoral researcher as part of the ERC TransParent project. The role focuses on studying the lived experiences of staying-behind families and transnational parenting, with longitudinal mixed-methods across Nigeria and other contexts.

You will work with local researchers and stakeholders in Belgium and beyond. The successful candidate holds a PhD in Educational Sciences, Social Work, or related fields and demonstrates strong English proficiency.

Formación

• PhD in Educational Sciences, Social Work or related social sciences by appointment date.
• Strong collaborative skills and ability to work in a team.
• Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Experience researching migration, parenting or related topics is preferred.
• Willingness to travel for data collection and dissemination.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee Nigerian study with a mixed-methods longitudinal design.
• Coordinate a large-scale cross-country survey in Nigeria and another country.
• Organize supervision and mentoring of PhD students.
• Develop theoretical models linking child migration and family studies.
