Zusammenfassung

Ghent University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Yoruba print culture. The successful candidate will coordinate and conduct research within an ERC-funded project led by Prof. Dr.

Shola Adenekan in Ghent, Belgium. The fellowship runs from February 1, 2027, to June 30, 2027, with potential for renewal within project constraints. The role requires Africanist expertise, leadership in archival work, and collaboration with international partners.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Literary Studies with a focus on African Studies, African literature, Yoruba Studies, or Digital Humanities.
• Research focus on Africa, preferably Yoruba-speaking West Africa.
• Ability to conduct independent archival research on Yoruba print culture.
• Experience building international relationships.
• Publications in international journals and presentations at conferences.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate and conduct research within the Yoruba Print Culture ERC project.
• Collaborate with the PI and research team to bring the project to conclusion.
• Work with international archivists, scholars and non-academic experts.
• Disseminate results through journals, conferences, and public outreach.
