Degroof Petercam Asset Management SA in Belgium seeks a Portfolio Manager Global Government Bonds to join a demanding fixed income desk, focusing on sovereign debt globally. You will analyze markets, manage portfolios, and implement strategies in a collaborative, flat-structure team.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree and 4–10 years’ experience in fixed income, with knowledge of inflation-linked securities, derivatives, and macro trends.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant subject.
• 4–10 years’ experience in fixed income markets, preferably with a focus on portfolio management.
• Technical knowledge of fixed income securities, including government bonds and derivatives.
• Inflation-linked bonds knowledge would be valuable.
• Strong chemistry with the staff in a flat hierarchical structure.
• Passion for financial markets and macro-economics with research affinity.
• Analytical, automation (Excel VBA, Python) and time management skills.
• Eager to learn and attention for detail.
• Team player with entrepreneurial attitude and high ethical standards.
• Exhibiting long-term commitment to excel in the function.
• Stay abreast of developments in fixed income asset management and global affairs.
• Openness for travel is required.

Your profile

• Master’s degree in a relevant subject
• About 4-10 years’ experience in fixed income markets, preferably with a focus on portfolio management
• Technical knowledge of fixed income securities, including but not limited to government bonds and various derivative instruments
• Knowledge of the inflation-linked bond market would be of great value added
• Looking for strong chemistry with the existing staff in a flat hierarchical structure
• Passion for financial markets and in depth / current understanding of macro-economics and fixed income markets. Affinity with (academic) research
• Proven analytical, automation (e.g. Excel VBA, Python) and time management skills
• Eager to continuously learn and attention for detail
• Team player with an entrepreneurial attitude and high ethical standards
• Exhibiting a long-term commitment to excel in the function
• Stay abreast of the latest developments and trends within fixed income asset management and strong interest in global current affairs
• Openness for some travel is required
