Hatlas Export is seeking a Planning Engineer to join a major petrochemical project in Belgium. You will develop detailed schedules, monitor progress, and lead schedule reviews with clients and subcontractors, ensuring milestones are met.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in planning, an engineering degree or chartered engineer status, and proven experience in refinery/oil and gas projects. Fluent English is required, with Dutch knowledge advantageous.

We are currently seeking a PLANNING ENGINEER to join a major project in the petrochemical and chemical industry in Belgium.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop detailed project schedules in collaboration with the project team.
• Implement progress measurement systems and monitor project performance and productivity.
• Coordinate scheduling interfaces between the client's and subcontractors' activities.
• Prepare regular schedule forecasts, including key milestones.
• Lead regular schedule review meetings with the project team, client and subcontractors.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for the project management team.
• Identify potential scheduling risks and recommend corrective actions.

PROFILE

• Engineering degree, Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar planning position.
• Proven experience in engineering and construction projects within the refinery, oil and gas, petrochemical or similar industrial sectors.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, spreadsheets and database tools.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated, energetic and results-oriented.
• Fluent English is required.
• Knowledge of Dutch would be an advantage.
