The Planning Coordinator plays a key role in securing the operational performance and delivery commitments of the Business Unit Component across the Charleroi and Haren sites. The position ensures a clear, realistic, and shared view of production capabilities and short‑term planning, acting as the central interface between operations, management, and commercial functions. By aligning capacity, workload, and priorities, the role directly supports on‑time delivery, workload balancing, and decision‑making at both operational and management levels.
Primary Responsibilities
Production Capability Management
- Create, maintain, and continuously update the production capability analysis for both CRL and HAR sites.
- Define and monitor available capacity based on resources, skills, equipment, and constraints.
- Identify capacity gaps, risks, and overload situations, and proactively propose mitigation actions.
- Ensure capability data is reliable, transparent, and shared with key stakeholders.
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Create, maintain, and monitor the day‑to‑day production planning for CRL and HAR sites.
- Translate workload demand into realistic and achievable short‑term plans aligned with available capacity.
- Adjust planning priorities based on operational constraints, urgencies, and commercial commitments.
- Monitor plan adherence and highlight deviations, risks, and recovery actions.
Operational Performance & Visibility
- Provide clear visibility on workload, capacity utilization, and planning risks through structured reporting and KPIs.
- Support operational reviews by providing accurate data and forward‑looking analyses.
- Contribute to lead‑time control, backlog reduction, and workload leveling across sites.
Interface with Management & Commercial Functions
- Act as the key interface between operations and management/commercial teams.
- Support decision‑making by assessing feasibility of new demand, priorities, and delivery commitments.
- Translate commercial requirements into operational plans and constraints into management‑level insights.
- Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, tools, and data reliability.
- Contribute to harmonization of planning practices between CRL and HAR.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving robustness, predictability, and agility of the planning process.
Cross‑Functional Coordination
- Work closely with production, logistics, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams.
- Ensure alignment between capacity, material availability, and operational execution.
Required Skills
- Industrial Engineering Master Degree or equivalent.
- Experience in production planning, capacity management, or operational coordination in an industrial or aerospace environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into operational and management insights.
- Structured and methodical approach with strong planning and prioritization capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with both shop‑floor and management stakeholders.
- Ability to manage complexity across multiple sites and balance short‑term urgencies with mid‑term vision.
- Proactive, solution‑oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
- Good knowledge of planning tools and ERP systems (SAP is a strong asset).
- Fluent in French or Dutch and English; knowledge of Dutch or French is mandatory.
