Job summary

Brevco Services in Belgium is seeking a senior cryptography specialist to support NATO-related initiatives, focusing on PKI, post-quantum cryptography, and regulatory frameworks.

The role requires working with international stakeholders, coordinating working groups, and contributing to audits and risk management.

You will provide guidance to senior officials, organize events, and manage cryptographic communities of interest.

Qualifications

• A university degree in Computer or Communication Science, Information Management, Information Security, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in post-related field.
• Comprehensive knowledge of network security and symmetric/asymmetric cryptography, including quantum threat.
• Strong PKI knowledge with RFCs and standards, with practical implementation or regulatory drafting experience.
• Desirable NATO-related cryptographic experience (Type A algorithms, military key distribution, NATO policies).
• Audit procedures, audits, and remediation planning experience.
• Experience with risk management in cryptographic or cyber security contexts.
• Knowledge of NATO internal structures and civil-military working practices.
• Excellent written and spoken English (SLP 4343+).
• Proven communication and negotiation skills in a large international environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare draft documents related to NATO cryptography focusing on PKI and coordinate approval through Working Groups and Committees.
• Provide expertise in cryptography (including post-quantum) in support of NATO and national initiatives.
• Manage organization of events and records of meetings.
• Act as a secretary or staff support for different working groups.
• Support audits of systems and entities within the Organization.
• Prepare presentations, speeches and notes for senior officials.
• Provide executive advice on relationships with NATO cryptographic stakeholders.
• Manage cryptographic communities of interest portals and external engagement.
