Job summary

The NATO Cyber Plans and Capabilities Division (CDT) seeks a Specialist Public Key Infrastructure embedded within the Cyber Plans and Capabilities Section to advance PKI policy, architecture, and cryptographic frameworks. You will draft policies, engage stakeholders, and document outcomes across NATO bodies.

Fluency in English, plus 5+ years in PKI/cryptography, is required. On-site work at NATO HQ Brussels with occasional travel and strict security guidelines apply.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer or Communication Science, Information Management, Information Security, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cryptography, PKI or related field.
• Strong knowledge of PKI and cryptography standards; practical implementation experience.
• Experience with NATO-related cryptographic issues is desirable.
• Experience with audit procedures and risk management.
• Excellent written and spoken English; ability to communicate clearly.
• Security clearance: NATO SECRET

Responsibilities

• Prepare draft documents related to NATO cryptography with focus on PKI and coordinate their approval through Working Groups and Committees.
• Provide expertise in cryptography (including post-quantum cryptography) and PKI in support of NATO initiatives.
• Manage organization of events and develop records of meetings.
• Act as secretary or staff support for different working groups.
• Support audits of systems and entities within the Organization.
• Prepare presentations and speaking notes for senior officials.
• Provide executive advice to Staff Officers on NATO cryptographic stakeholders.
• Manage cryptographic communities of interest portals and support external engagement.
