Cochlear Limited in Mechelen, Belgium, invites applications for a Doctoral Candidate Advanced Implant Process Technologies. You will develop a high‑fidelity digital twin for micro‑laser welding of titanium implants and pursue a doctoral degree in collaboration with Cochlear and Leuven.

The role includes two secondments (Chemnitz and Sydney), a full‑time contract under MSCA rules, and a competitive EU salary package.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree (min. distinction) in a relevant field; multidisciplinary research interest.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; hands‑on mindset.
• Good verbal and written English communications.

Responsabilités

• Develop and validate a high‑fidelity digital twin for micro‑laser welding of titanium implants.
• Model physical phenomena and validate against measurements.
• Collaborate with MaPS lab at Leuven and Cochlear teams; participate in secondments.
