KU Leuven is seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate for a fully funded international doctoral position in micromanufacturing through the Marie Curie Doctoral Network MicroMan4Health. The project focuses on research related to digitalised micro-EDM processes for neural sensing applications.

The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge research in advanced manufacturing, with opportunities for international secondments and expert guidance from both academic and industry mentors.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in advanced manufacturing and precision engineering.
• Experience with experimental setups and laboratory equipment.
• Excellent command of English with TOEFL or IELTS scores.

Responsabilités

• Investigate micro-EDM material removal mechanisms.
• Research and optimise micro-EDM process parameters.
• Design data-driven frameworks linking discharge characteristics.
• Study tool electrode wear mechanisms for accuracy.
• Establish digital process-monitoring approaches.
