Cochlear is seeking a Doctoral Candidate Advanced Implant Process Technologies (DC1) hosted by the Advanced Implant Technology Department in Mechelen, Belgium. You will develop a high‑fidelity digital twin for micro‑laser welding of titanium components used in active medical implants and validate it with measurements.

The role is part of the MSCA Doctoral Network, with secondments to Chemnitz and Sydney, offering full‑time employment and a pathway to a doctoral degree.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree with distinction in a relevant field (Mechanical, Biomedical, Materials, Production/Manufacturing, Physics, Data Science).
• Strong interest in research and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Good English communication and writing skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop and validate a high-fidelity digital twin for micro-laser welding in active implants.
• Verify models against measurements and perform tolerance-sensitivity analysis.
• Collaborate with Cochlear/MaPS, Leuven, and other consortium partners; participate in secondments.
