• Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical faults, predominantly on overhead cranes.
• Develop solutions to minimize breakdowns and downtime.
• Organize the technical on-call service.
• Advise management on technical optimizations and support implementation.
• Maintenance = 65%.
• Troubleshooting = 30%.
• Production support = 5% (restart operations).
• Split of tasks: 50% electrical, 50% mechanical.

Job description

The Overhead Crane Technician is responsible for the technical maintenance and troubleshooting of the thermal galvanizing installations at Limburgse Galvanisatie in Maasmechelen.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Performing recurring maintenance on installations (burners, overhead cranes (70%), extraction systems, monorail systems, immersion baths, zinc kettle, etc.).
• Troubleshooting and resolving electrical or mechanical faults on the installations, mostly overhead cranes
• Developing solutions to minimize breakdowns and reduce downtime as much as possible.
• Organizing the technical on-call service.
• Advising management on technical optimizations and supporting the implementation of these improvements.
• Maintenance = 65%
• Troubleshooting = 30%
• 5% production support (mainly restarting operations after issues)
• 50% electrical faults and 50% mechanical faults.so50/50 split between mechanical and electrical tasks

Background/experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Electromechanics or equivalent through experience.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in technical maintenance and troubleshooting of installations in an industrial environment, with proven experience in supervising technical staff.
• Experience with thermal galvanizing installations is a plus.
• No fear of heights.
