EURAXESS Ireland is seeking an Optical Wireless Communication Systems Expert to join the PICSYS team at imec in Leuven, Belgium. The candidate will focus on developing next-generation OWC systems with responsibilities spanning from modeling to demonstrator integration.

Applicants should possess a PhD or Master's in relevant fields, alongside substantial experience in optical communication design. The position emphasizes hands-on work and collaboration across teams, with opportunities for personal and professional growth at a premier nanotechnology research center.

Qualifications

• At least 2–3 years of post-doctoral or equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience in optical communication system design.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsabilités

• Develop link budgets and performance analyses for OWC links.
• Design, build, and characterize OWC link demonstrators.
• Engage with PIC designers throughout the design cycle.
