Imec India Private Limited is seeking an Optical Wireless Communication Systems Expert for its PICSYS team in Leuven, Belgium. The role requires a PhD in relevant fields and a minimum of two years of post-PhD experience. You will develop link budgets and performance analyses for optical wireless communication links, design and characterize demonstrators, and collaborate closely with various engineering teams.

This position provides an opportunity to work at the frontier of integrated photonics within one of the world’s premier research centers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience and is encouraged to take initiative in a multicultural work environment.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of post-PhD industry experience or 5 years in industry with a Master’s.
• Demonstrated experience in optical communication system design, modeling, or characterization.
• Hands-on familiarity with photonic integrated circuits and optical systems.

Responsabilités

• Develop link budgets and performance analyses for optical wireless communication links.
• Design and characterize OWC link demonstrators in laboratory and field settings.
• Collaborate with various teams to align demonstrator builds with architectural roadmap.

Connaissances

Optical communication system design

System-level modeling skills (MATLAB, Python)

Hands-on laboratory experience with optical alignment

Track record of delivering functional demonstrators

Excellent written and spoken English

Formation

PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics or closely related field

Master's degree with at least 5 years relevant experience
