Job summary

Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering NV is seeking a Trencher Operator to manage trencher equipment on offshore cable laying vessels. You will follow Shift Supervisor instructions, assist mobilization and project prep, and operate per manuals while maintaining logs.

The role prefers experience in maritime/offshore settings, requires fluent English, and a hands-on, no-nonsense attitude. Willingness to spend five weeks away from home is essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems (MBO Level 3-4).
• Knowledge of Electronics (MBO Level 3-4).
• Preference for work experience in maritime/offshore environments.
• Communicative and problem solving abilities.
• Hands-on, no-nonsense mentality.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).
• Willing to be away from home for 5 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Operate trencher equipment safely and efficiently per plans and requirements.
• Follow Shift Supervisor instructions and assist mobilization/demobilization.
• Support project preparations and maintain equipment logs.
• Operate according to manufacturers manuals and instructions.
• Coordinate maintenance and basic repairs with Shift Supervisor.
• Complete pre-checks before operations and ensure proper procedures.
• Maintain daily maintenance, fault, and improvement logs.
• Inform Shift Supervisor of issues and process deviations.
• Support DEME QHSE policies and project HSE plan.
• Participate in HIRA meetings and keep safety at a high level.
