Job summary

In4Matic is seeking an experienced Network & Security Engineer to join our technical team in Belgium. You will manage and optimize network infrastructures while leading security initiatives across firewalls, VPNs and hybrid cloud environments.

The role emphasizes hands-on networking, incident resolution and automation, with collaboration across engineers and architects to deliver robust IT solutions. Dutch and English fluency are required, French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Several years of professional experience in Network Engineering or Network Security.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Aruba, Fortinet, Juniper, SD-WAN and wireless networking.
• Solid knowledge of FortiGate, Check Point, VPN, Zero Trust, NAC and security monitoring.
• Familiarity with cloud/hybrid networking, preferably Azure or Cloudflare.
• Experience with or interest in PowerShell, scripting and diagnostic tools like Wireshark.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with root-cause focus.
• Structured, proactive approach to problem-solving, documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Strong communication skills and team collaboration.
• Languages: Dutch and English (professional). French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Network & Security Management: Maintain and optimize network infrastructures with security, availability and performance in mind.
• Design & Implementation: Develop modern networking and security solutions including firewalls, SD-WAN, VPN and wireless networks.
• Incident & Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analyses and implement sustainable fixes.
• Cloud & Hybrid Networking: Support cloud integration and on-premises network environments.
• Automation & Optimization: Identify opportunities to automate recurring tasks via scripting.
• Technical Collaboration: Work with engineers, consultants and architects to address challenges.
• Knowledge Sharing: Document technical work and share best practices with the team.
