Job summary

Nilort IT Group seeks an enthusiastic engineer to join the IP/Security integration team in Belgium. You will design, implement, validate and monitor IP/Security network solutions for government, utilities, universities and data centers.

You will stay current with IP standards and obtain partner certifications while guiding field teams and reporting network performance. Responsibilities include 24/7 monitoring, incident root-cause analysis, documenting systems, and coordinating with vendors.

Responsibilities

• The core tasks of this role revolve around the design, implementation, validation, configuration, monitoring of IP/Security network solutions for our customers.
• Keep level of knowledge up to date with IP standards and get certified on our partner’s technical solutions (e.g. Cisco & Fortinet).
• Use management systems to monitor the real time operation of the network and respond appropriately on alarms and informational messages.
• Participation in 24/7 monitoring rotation performing in-depth analysis of issues to find root-causes and implement solutions to resolve problems.
• Guide our field support team during installation and maintenance activities.
• Collect and report daily performance statistics from the network in order to recognize performance trends and propose improvement actions if needed.
• Provide technical engineering and architectural assistance to project teams.
• Coordinate and interact with customer, peers and equipment vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Perform site inspections on recently completed construction projects.
• Schedule and track various preventative and corrective maintenance activities.
• Verify and update documentation of engineered systems.
• Implement changes to new or existing products and features.
• Be responsible for creating and maintaining a safety conscious work environment by leading and influencing others to follow safety protocols and safe work practices.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and reliable engineer to join our client's IP/Security integration team active in Belgium since 2000.

The IP/Security integration team is a technical team of experts responsible for identifying, designing, delivering, integrating and maintaining Ethernet/IP solutions based on a number of leading-edge products and technologies from our technological partners like Cisco and Fortinet.

We serve customers like nearly all governmental organizations, utility companies, railways, universities & high schools, harbours, service providers and several well‑known datacenters.

Main Responsibilities

Nice to have

• Knowledge and/or practical experience in engineering IP/Security networks, in general telecommunications or computer infrastructures is a plus, but not a requirement if you are willing to learn.
