Job summary

Samsonite is seeking an experienced machinery operator in Belgium to manage two large injection/press-forming machines. You will perform mold changes, run checks, and release production per instructions.

You will also identify early production issues and guide operators through their tasks in a factory setting. Responsibilities include trial injections when requested, coordinating color changes, maintaining color/work standards, and using a stacker to move baskets as needed.

Qualifications

• Diploma A2 or A3 Mechanica or several years of experience in a similar role.
• Technical insight and a passion for mechanics.
• Brevet/license for forklift, hoist and overhead crane or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to work independently, precisely and flexibly.
• Willingness to work in a 2-shift system after the training period.

Responsibilities

• Operate 2 large injection or press-forming machines.
• Perform mold changes according to the schedule and start the machine after a setup or defect.
• Carry out checks and release production according to instructions.
• Identify early production and process issues.
• Per request, perform trial injections on production molds.
• Guide operators in performing their tasks.
• Remove baskets using a stacker when needed.
• Conduct color changes and establish color and work standards.
