Job summary

IMEC, based in Leuven, Belgium, seeks a Memory Subsystem R&D Engineer to bridge memory/storage technology and architecture within its CSA team. You will lead R&D on novel memory/storage solutions for future compute systems, collaborating across disciplines such as applications, technology, circuits and design to push innovations from concept to higher maturity.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering/Science with memory/storage experience.
• 3+ years of R&D in memory/storage architecture or compute-near-memory solutions.
• Ideation to productisation experience in memory subsystems.
• Strong understanding of memory/storage architecture with system-level modelling.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on memory/storage R&D for next-gen systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies with performance modelling and prototyping.
• Lead research ideas to higher maturity within project teams.
• Develop models for complex SoCs/systems across domains as needed.
• Stay updated on memory/storage tech and integration paradigms.
• Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Mentor Masters/Doctoral students or interns as needed.
• Publish results in high-impact journals/conferences/open-source ecosystems.
