Pauwels Consulting is seeking a Java backend developer for a prominent public sector client. You will be responsible for end-to-end development, testing and maintenance of Java-based applications supporting digital transformation initiatives.

In an Agile environment you will design and implement robust REST APIs, work with TypeScript on the frontend, and ensure high-quality code with rigorous testing. Dutch language fluency at C2 is required for this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years backend development with Java, J2EE and Spring Boot.
• 3+ years REST API design and implementation experience.
• Experience with frontend development using TypeScript.
• Proficiency in SQL database querying and management.
• Formal Java certification or equivalent through experience.
• Dutch language fluency at C2 level.

Our client, a prominent organization in the public sector, is seeking a developer to strengthen their technical team. The role involves the end-to-end development, testing, and maintenance of Java-based applications to support digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality backend services using Java and modern frameworks.
• Design and implement robust REST APIs for various system integrations.
• Perform thorough coding, testing, and debugging to ensure software excellence.

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend development experience with Java, J2EE, and Spring Boot.
• 3+ years of experience with the implementation and management of REST APIs.
• Experience with frontend development using TypeScript.
• Proficiency in database querying and management with SQL.
• You possess a formal certification in Java or equivalent through professional experience.
• You are fluent in Dutch with a C2 level of proficiency.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with React for frontend development.
• Knowledge of Bamboo, Helm charts, and Atlassian Tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Experience developing applications that utilize geospatial data.
• Previous professional experience within the public sector or Flemish Government.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies and performing independent code maintenance.
