Job summary

VP.Start is seeking a Mechanical Intern to contribute to detailed designs of mechanical components and assemblies. You will develop CAD models, technical drawings, and perform engineering calculations to validate designs against performance specifications.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including quality, production, and product management while ensuring safety and compliance. This internship offers hands-on experience across design, prototype testing, and manufacturing support.

Qualifications

• Education in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD software and engineering analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Basic understanding GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes (Machining, Welding, Bending, Laser, etc).
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.

Mechanical Intern

Principal Role And Responsibilities

• Create detailed designs for mechanical components and assemblies

Manufacturing and Maintenance

• Install, maintain, and upgrade production machinery and equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures and breakdowns
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs
• Monitor equipment performance and minimize downtime
• Ensure safe operation of all mechanical systems
• Design fixtures, jigs, and tooling for production
• Work with design engineers on product manufacturability
• Coordinate with production teams on process changes
• Participate in cross-functional project teams
• Prepare technical reports and documentation
• Conduct feasibility studies for new equipment or processes
• Design solutions for manufacturing challenges
• Investigate and resolve product defects and quality issues
