Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical/electromechanical engineering or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships or projects count).
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent).
• Solid grasp of mechanical design fundamentals (tolerancing, material selection, fastening, kinematics).
• Ability to read and produce technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and sub-assemblies for automated production and inspection cells using 3D CAD.
• Select and size standard mechanical components (linear guides, actuators, bearings, pneumatic/hydraulic elements).
• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and support procurement and machining of custom parts.
• Support assembly, integration, and commissioning of mechanical subsystems on the shop floor with others.
• Contribute to basic structural and kinematic calculations for new machine designs.

Your mission

Aerospacelab is looking for a JuniorMechanical Design Engineer to join our production engineering team. You willdesign and detail the mechanical structure of our automated production andinspection machines - frames, fixtures, tooling, end-effectors, and moving assemblies- working closely with automation, controls, and manufacturing engineers. Thisis an entry-level, hands-on technical role with no people-managementresponsibilities, offering close mentorship from senior mechanical andautomation engineers while you grow into a full ownership role on our satellitemanufacturing lines.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical componentsand sub-assemblies for automated production and inspection cells (frames,fixtures, jigs, tooling, end-effectors) using 3D CAD (SolidWorks orequivalent).
• Select and size standardmechanical components (linear guides, actuators, bearings, pneumatic/hydraulicelements) for new equipment.
• Produce detailed manufacturingdrawings and support procurement and machining of custom parts.
• Support assembly, integration,and commissioning of mechanical subsystems on the shop floor, alongsideautomation and controls engineers.
• Contribute to basic structuraland kinematic calculations (loads, deflection, motion clearances) for newmachine designs.

Must have

• Bachelor's or Master's degreein mechanical engineering, electromechanical engineering, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of relevantexperience (internships or academic projects count) - this is a junior-levelposition.
• Proficiency with 3D CADsoftware (SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent) and a solid grasp of mechanicaldesign fundamentals (tolerancing, material selection, fastening, kinematics).
• Genuine interest in hands-onmechanical design for production equipment and machine building.
• Comfortable reading andproducing technical drawings.
• Curious, rigorous, and eager tolearn from senior engineers across mechanical, controls, and softwaredisciplines.
• Fluent in English; French is aplus.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of pneumatics,hydraulics, or motion control components.
• Academic or personal projectexperience with robotics, automation, or machine building.
• Experience in an aerospace,space, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment.
