Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Beerse, Belgium, seeks an Associate Director to lead the Mass Spectrometry Group within Analytical Development. You will shape strategy, prioritize portfolio, and ensure reliable delivery across development and commercial activities.

You will build a high-performing team, foster an inclusive culture, and drive innovation in data science, digitalization, and automation of analytical workflows, while meeting GMP and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience with demonstrated people leadership in direct, indirect or matrix settings.
• Strong track record leading teams, setting direction and developing talent.
• Experience in prioritizing a complex portfolio in a global matrix environment.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical R&D, GMP and analytical method lifecycle principles.
• Experience with impurity-management including nitrosamines and regulatory submissions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mass Spectrometry group with accountability for people leadership, strategy and delivery across development and commercial portfolios.
• Translate strategy into clear short- to mid-term priorities and capability plans.
• Build a high-performing team with coaching, succession planning and an inclusive culture.
• Promote innovation and modernize MS capability through data science, digitalization and automation.
• Ensure robust scientific support for regulatory submissions and Health Authority responses.
• Oversee outsourcing networks with CROs and collaborators and ensure governance.
