Job summary

Pauwels Consulting is seeking a Mainframe Developer to support core policy management systems in a Belgian environment. You will perform analysis, development, and testing within an agile setting to maintain applications for insurance policies, claims, and finance.

The role requires strong COBOL on IBM mainframes, z/OS, and CICS/VSAM expertise. You will work in a hybrid regime with at least two days onsite, contributing to a sprint-based team and collaborating across stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of COBOL development experience.
• Experience with IBM Mainframe systems and z/OS environments using CICS and VSAM.
• Knowledge of Batch processing, JCL, and SDSF.
• RDz proficiency for development and analysis.
• Strong problem-solving, hands-on mindset, and ownership within a sprint-based agile team.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; basic knowledge of French.
