Job summary

Equans BeLux in Brussels seeks a Legal Counsel to support infrastructure projects and public procurement contracts. You will provide contractual guidance, manage risk, and work closely with the Business Unit Infra to deliver compliant, efficient solutions.

The role requires a Master’s degree in law and 3–4 years of experience as a lawyer or in-house counsel, with strong Dutch, French and English language skills. A proactive business partner mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• At least 3–4 years of experience as a lawyer and/or in-house legal counsel (preferably in infrastructure projects).
• Expertise in contract law, public procurement, and large infrastructure projects.
• Fluent in Dutch with good knowledge of French and English (spoken and written).
• Proactive, dynamic and able to communicate clearly as a business partner.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing tender documents and providing legal advice during execution.
• Negotiating, drafting and managing contracts related to infrastructure and public procurement.
• Carrying out risk analyses related to contracts and projects.
• Following up on disputes and claims and advising on contract law and compliance.
• Collaborating with business partners to develop legal solutions and support negotiations.

This role combines contractual expertise with close collaboration with the Business Unit Infra, contributing to solutions within a technical and commercial environment.
