Job summary

Turner Lovell is recruiting a Lead Engineer to provide FEED and design oversight for HVDC power systems on international transmission projects. You will shape high level concepts and collaborate with OEMs to drive detailed design and final selection.

In this senior role you will act as a technical authority across HVDC programmes, challenging solutions and advising project owners from concept through commissioning.

Qualifications

• 10+ years HVDC experience with strong HVDC systems knowledge.
• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• Track record delivering large, complex HVDC projects.
• Experience across multiple project stages—from specs to FAT/commissioning.
• Strong knowledge of major HVDC OEM landscape and direct engagement with manufacturers.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and communicate with senior stakeholders.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally.

Are you an experienced Electrical Engineer & HVDC specialist who wants to influence how major transmission projects are developed?

Turner Lovell is supporting a growing international utility group that provides onshore and offshore HV grids. They also provide specialist advisory services to international transmission operators and energy infrastructure developers.

We are recruiting a Lead Engineer to provide FEED and design oversight for HVDC power systems. You will design the high level concept of HVDC solutions, and then work with OEMs to produce detailed design and final selection. The opportunity is suited to someone who understands HVDC projects from both a technical and delivery perspective and can confidently challenge solutions, advise project owners and engage with the major technology providers.

Your Role

You will act as a senior technical authority across international HVDC programmes, helping clients move projects from initial concept towards successful delivery.
