Job summary

CellCarta in Antwerpen, Belgium is hiring a Laboratory Technician I for Genomics Services. You will perform molecular analyses, manage samples, and ensure data integrity within our ISO 15189-compliant lab team.

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, you will handle DNA/RNA extractions and operate LIMS while maintaining accurate records and collaborating across the unit. Must be fluent in Dutch and English, and ready to work full-time on-site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a medical/biomedical lab field is required.
• Experience in a molecular lab is a plus.
• Strong written and spoken communication in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Perform molecular analyses on multiple platforms.
• Operate and report malfunctions of analysis equipment.
• Monitor lab processes and record data in LIMS.
• Prepare analyses, equipment and samples per requirements.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the Laboratory Technician Iis responsible for carrying out molecular laboratory analyses within our Genomics Unit. In this lab, in addition to DNA and/or RNA extractions, you will also perform molecular analyses using the latest technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform specialized molecular analyses of varying complexity on different platforms
• Control the operation of analysis equipment and report malfunctions
• Monitor lab processes and record data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Prepare analyses, equipment, and samples according to testing requirements
• Document the laboratory work performed
• Assist with data interpretation

Qualifications

• Professional bachelor's degree in Medical, Pharmaceutical, or Biomedical Laboratory Technology, or Biochemistry
• Prior experience in a molecular laboratory is a plus
• Able to use a computer (Word, Excel) and a database, or willing to learn
• Flexible, communicative, and enjoys working in a team
• Works within a quality system (ISO 15189:2012), requiring accuracy and the ability to work in a planned and documented manner
• Able to express ideas fluently, both orally and in writing, in Dutch and English
• Strong reporting skills for processing results
• Flexible and enthusiastic working attitude, with decisiveness

Work Arrangements

• Position type:Full time, 100% on-site
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
• Location:Sint-Bavostraat 78, 2610 Antwerpen (Wilrijk), Belgium
