The European DIGITAL SME Alliance, Europe’s leading ICT SME association, is seeking a Junior Project Manager in Brussels. You will contribute to EU-funded cybersecurity and digital initiatives, supporting project implementation, policy research, and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, European Studies, Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, Engineering, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of relevant experience in EU-funded projects, project management, cybersecurity, digital policies or related fields.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsabilités

  • Support EU-funded cybersecurity and digital projects across their lifecycle.
  • Coordinate project activities, track timelines and deliverables.
  • Prepare policy briefings, responses, and background research on cybersecurity & digital policy.
  • Engage with project partners, SMEs, policymakers, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare deliverables, reports, meetings, and project documentation.
  • Contribute to communication and dissemination activities (website, newsletters, social media).
  • Monitor EU policy developments, funding opportunities, regulatory initiatives, and stakeholder activities.

Description du poste

The European DIGITAL SME Alliance is Europe’s largest ICT SME association, representing more than 45,000 small and medium-sized enterprises through its network of national and regional member associations.

Join the European DIGITAL SME Alliance as a Junior Project Manager and proactively contribute to EU-funded projects that support Europe’s digital ambitions. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop project management expertise while working at the intersection of project implementation, cybersecurity, and European digital policy.

The successful candidate will support the implementation of projects across a range of thematic areas aligned with DIGITAL SME’s priorities, with an initial focus on cybersecurity, cyber resilience, and European digital sovereignty. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a diverse portfolio of European initiatives, including cybersecurity policy, digital resilience, SME cybersecurity, digital skills, trust and security in emerging technologies, and other areas supporting a secure and competitive European digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation and day-to-day management of several EU-funded cybersecurity and digital projects throughout their lifecycle;
  • Support the coordination of project activities, help track timelines and deliverables, and assist with the smooth implementation of project tasks;
  • Contribute to policy briefings, consultation responses, position papers, and background research on cybersecurity, cyber resilience, and digital policy topics;
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with project partners, SMEs, cybersecurity experts, policymakers, public authorities, and other stakeholders, fostering effective communication and collaboration;
  • Prepare and review project deliverables, reports, meetings, and other project documentation;
  • Contribute to communication and dissemination activities, including website content, newsletters, social media, and promotional materials;
  • Conduct research and monitor EU policy developments, funding opportunities, regulatory initiatives, and stakeholder activities related to cybersecurity, digital resilience, data protection, and European digital sovereignty;
  • Organise and support online, hybrid, and in-person meetings, workshops, webinars, conferences, and other cybersecurity-related events;
  • Represent DIGITAL SME at conferences, workshops, consortium meetings, policy events, and networking activities.
Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A university degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, European Studies, Political Science, Public Policy, International Relations, Engineering, or another relevant field;
  • One to two years of relevant professional experience, including internships, in EU-funded projects, project management, cybersecurity, digital policies, European affairs, or related fields;
  • Excellent written and spoken English;
  • A genuine interest in cybersecurity, cyber resilience, digital transformation, European digital policy, and SME competitiveness;
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
  • Excellent communication, writing, research, and analytical skills;
  • Strong digital literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and WordPress. Experience with social media management, CRM systems, and content creation tools such as Canva is an asset;
  • A basic understanding of European cybersecurity policy and regulatory developments, such as the NIS2 Directive, Cyber Resilience Act, or EU cybersecurity strategy, is an advantage;
  • Knowledge of another EU language, particularly French, Dutch, or German, is considered an asset;
  • A proactive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in an international environment.
