Ernst & Young in Belgium is seeking a Junior Enterprise Risk Management Consultant to support risk assessment, transformation projects, and regulatory compliance within the Financial Services sector. You will contribute to ERM governance, control enhancements, and risk reporting while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s degree, are fluent in business English with French or Dutch, and show eagerness to learn the Belgian financial services landscape.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant field plus strong interest in financial services risk management.
• Excellent business English with proficiency in French and/or Dutch; multilingual communication is valued.
• Open-minded with strong teamwork, autonomy, and a desire to learn the Belgian financial services market.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to qualitative operational risk management initiatives and governance.
• Support regulatory agenda mapping and impact analysis (DORA, GDPR, MiFID, etc.).
• Assist in risk strategy and appetite discussions and reporting.
• Improve internal controls design and monitor their implementation.
• Perform regulatory gap assessments and aid roadmap execution.

At EY Financial Services Organization (FSO) we have a strong Non-Financial Risk, Regulatory & Compliance Consulting practice. Our dedicated professionals work with financial institutions of different size across various sectors (including insurance, banks, asset management and payment players), helping them in notably being compliant with new or updates in regulations but as well at organizing their control functions (e.g. compliance, non-financial risk management & permanent control) in alignment with market practices and regulatory requirements.

Our aim is to ensure that risk management stays at the forefront of digital and disruption. The challenges are tremendous and we offer our clients insight into what the risk management function and compliance function of the future looks like. We are looking for professionals who are comfortable operating on this cross-road, and who also possess the interpersonal skills needed in order to solve our clients’ risk management challenges.

As a future Enterprise Risk Management consultant, you will join our team, designed to assist our clients in financial services, with delivering transformation projects, managing risk, and improving performance. Both in support and control functions as well as within the business (end-to-end).

Your Key Responsibilities

• Qualitative aspects of Operational risk management (ERM transformation, governance, risk culture, policies, reporting);
• Regulatory agenda ((e.g.: DORA, GDPR, MiFID, PRIIPS, UCITS/AIFMD, CRD, PSD2, Instant payment, CESOP, Interchange Fee Regulation, Corporate Governance, Remuneration policies, Solvency II, IDD, IRRD…) and its operational impact;
• Risk strategy and appetite;
• Internal Control: Improve the design of (non-) regulatory internal controls and monitor their effective implementation,
• Regulatory gap assessment & roadmap implementation,

Your Profile

You have/are:

• Master's Degree in (Business) Engineering, Finance, Risk, Economics, Accounting or a related field;
• A solid level of French and/or Dutch with an excellent knowledge of business English;
• Open minded and have a great team spirit, balanced by a healthy sense of autonomy;
• A keen interest to learn more about the Financial Services market in Belgium and beyond;
• Available to start in January 2027 or September 2027.
