Meerab Group in Belgium is seeking a Junior Back-End Software Engineer to contribute to the development, integration and maintenance of corporate IT solutions used across European Commission services. The role focuses on back-end development, APIs, databases, integrations and scalable software solutions in an international, multicultural environment.

You'll work on building, securing and documenting RESTful services, with Java and/or PHP, and modern back-end frameworks.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java and/or PHP back-end development.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot, Hibernate and/or Node.js.
• Proficiency with REST APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL, Oracle or MySQL.
• Experience with messaging systems like Kafka, JMS or ActiveMQ.
• Experience building and running CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of cloud back-end technologies is expected.

• Develop and maintain back-end web applications and services.
• Implement core business logic and server-side functionality.
• Integrate back-end services with front-end applications.
• Design and implement data storage solutions.
• Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs and web services.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms for APIs and services.
• Apply security and data protection best practices.
• Develop scalable and high-performance software solutions.
• Troubleshoot application, data and code issues and identify improvements.
• Perform unit and integration testing and validate code changes.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain code quality and integrity.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.
• Ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
