Job summary

confidential, a global law firm, seeks a Finance & Projects lawyer in Belgium to handle cross-border financings and complex transactions.

The role requires a Belgian Master’s degree in Law and 1–4 years’ experience in Banking & Finance, including leveraged or project finance. Fluency in Dutch or French with strong English, proactive organization, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold Belgian Master’s degree in Law and be qualified to practise as a lawyer in Belgium.
• 1–4 years of experience in Banking & Finance, ideally including leveraged or project finance.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review financing documentation, including facility agreements, security documents and intercreditor arrangements.
• Assist with leveraged finance matters, including acquisition finance, real estate finance, club deals, syndicated and unitranche transactions.
• Contribute to project finance matters involving infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
• Conduct legal research and prepare advice tailored to clients’ matters.
• Coordinate with foreign counsel and other offices on cross-border transactions.
• Follow transactions through the closing process, including conditions precedent and post-closing follow-up.

Its Finance & Projects practice in Belgium works on a broad range of domestic and international financing transactions for banks, alternative lenders, sponsors and corporate borrowers. Let's talk about you

• You hold a Belgian Master's degree in Law and are qualified to practise as a lawyer in Belgium.
• You have 1-4 years of experience in Banking & Finance, ideally including leveraged or project finance.
• You are a native Dutch or French speaker with an excellent command of English; knowledge of the other national language is an asset.
• You are organised, proactive, pragmatic and able to manage complex matters efficiently.
• You have strong communication and legal skills, with attention to detail and a strong service orientation.
