Actief Interim seeks a Junior Accountant in Leuven to join the finance team. You will handle AP accounting, reconcile payments and manage expense entries, alongside general accounting tasks including bank reconciliations and payroll bookings.

The role requires a Bachelor in Finance/Accountancy or equivalent experience, excellent English and good Dutch, and strong attention to detail with analytical skills. A hybrid work policy (3 days office, 2 days home) is offered in an international setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or equivalent experience in Finance/Accountancy.
• Fluent English and good Dutch (spoken & written).
• Attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Understanding of Belgian accounting and reporting.
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with NetSuite/Salesforce is a plus.

Responsabilités

• AP accounting: register invoices and manage approval cycle.
• Process supplier payments and reconcile outgoing payments.
• Review and register expense notes.
• General accounting: bank reconciliations and journal entries.
• Payroll bookings, fixed assets, depreciation and provisions.
• Filing Belgian VAT returns and related duties.

We are looking for a Junior Accountant to join the finance team for a company in Leuven.

Your responsibilities will include:

AP accounting

• Register incoming invoices according to Belgian accounting and VAT principles and get them through
  the approval cycle;
• Payments of suppliers and reconciliation of outgoing payments;
• Review and register expense notes.

General accounting

• Book and reconcile bank statements;
• Register journal entries;
• Register payroll bookings;
• Register fixed assets and book depreciations;
• Register prepaid expenses and provisions;
• Filing Belgian VAT returns;
• Register prepaid expenses and provisions.

Wat vragen wij van je:

• Bachelor in a relevant field (Finance, Accountancy) or assimilated by experience.
• Excellent knowledge of English and good knowledge of Dutch (spoken & written).
• Great attention to detail and good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.
• Good understanding of Belgian accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software. Experience with NetSuite and/or Salesforce is a plus.
