Antwerp Management School (AMS) invites applications for a Junior Accountant to join our financial team in Antwerp. You will contribute to daily accounting processes, maintain accurate records, and support the team with both operational and analytical tasks.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, has 1–2 years of accounting experience, and is fluent in Dutch and English. Proficiency in Navision and familiarity with BE GAAP are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Familiar with BE GAAP principles.
• Proficient with Navision; knowledge of Odoo is a plus.
• Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsabilités

• Process and book purchase invoices with accuracy.
• Book bank transactions and ensure correct recording.
• Register teachers' fees using SD software.
• Prepare and process outgoing invoices.
• Perform general ledger bookings to support financial reporting.
• Assist in preparing VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, and IC reports.
• Support quarterly and year-end closings in BE GAAP.

Function

As a Junior Accountant at Antwerp Management School (AMS), you play a key role in ensuring smooth and accurate financial administration within one of the world’s leading management schools.

In this varied position, you will contribute to our daily accounting processes and support our financial team in both operational and analytical tasks. Your responsibilities include:

• Process and book purchase invoices with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Book bank transactions and ensure all financial flows are correctly recorded.
• Register teachers' fees using SD software.
• Prepare and process outgoing invoices.
• Perform various general ledger bookings to support correct financial reporting.
• Assist in preparing and submitting VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, and Intercommunity (IC) reports.
• Support the team during quarterly and year-end closings in accordance with BE GAAP.

Profile

This role is designed for someone eager to grow, learn, and take on more responsibility in a supportive and internationally oriented environment.

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, ideally complemented by 1-2 years of experience in an accounting position.
• You are fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
• You have a solid understanding of BE GAAP principles.
• You are familiar with accounting software such as Navision; experience with Odoo is a valuable plus.
• You work confidently with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• You enjoy working collaboratively within a team, but you can also plan your work independently and take initiative when needed.
• You have an affinity with the education sector and feel energized by working in an environment with an international and academic character.
