In The Pocket is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design, develop, and deploy robust APIs using Java and JVM ecosystems. You’ll migrate and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure, automate deployments with Terraform, and optimise resources for cost and scalability.

The role emphasizes security (OWASP) and AI-assisted development. You’ll join a multidisciplinary team across Europe, working in autonomous squads that own delivery, collaborate closely with product and design

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of Java and JVM ecosystem.
• Experience with Spring Boot (and related Spring projects) and Kotlin variants.
• Proven cloud experience with AWS, GCP or Azure and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of authentication (OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML) and database tech (SQL/NoSQL).
