BNP Paribas Fortis's Architecture Department is the strategic backbone of our digital transformation, shaping secure, scalable technology solutions that align business vision with IT excellence.

As a Senior Architect you will design and validate cloud-native solutions, maintain architecture blueprints, and mentor other teams on resilient patterns, security and DevEx. Fluency in English is required, with Dutch or French as a plus.

• Design and validate cloud-native architectures for development frameworks and toolchains.
• Produce and maintain architecture blueprints, solution and reference architectures with standards and security policies.
• Support other architects and development teams with expert guidance on scalable design patterns.
• Demystify complex concepts (service mesh, CD, automation) to ensure secure, performant, developer-friendly solutions.

The Architecture Department at BNP Paribas Fortis is the strategic backbone of our digital transformation.

We design the future of banking by shaping secure, scalable, and innovative technology solutions that align business vision with cutting‑edge IT. Our team of expert architects bridges the gap between security, agility, and customer‑centric innovation, ensuring every system‑from cloud to core banking‑is built for performance, compliance, and seamless integration.

AND IN DETAIL

• You will design and validate solutions for development frameworks, platforms, and toolchains, enabling Dev Engineers to build and deploy scalable cloud-native applications.
• You will produce and maintain high-quality architecture documentation—including blueprints, solution architectures, and reference architectures—to ensure alignment with architectural standards, security policies, and business requirements.
• You will support other architects and development teams by providing expert guidance on scalable, resilient design patterns and cloud-native best practices.
• You will demystify complex technical concepts (e.g., service mesh, continuous delivery, infrastructure automation) to ensure solutions are secure, performant, and developer friendly.

YOUR TALENTS AND COMPETENCES

• Cloud-Native Development: Deep expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-native applications (microservices, containers) with a focus on scalability, resilience, and observability.
• Kubernetes & OpenShift: Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift
• IBM Cloud Platform: Proficiency in IBM Cloud services (e.g., Openshift and other native IBM Cloud services like EventStream, COS,…)
• Toolchain & Automation: Strong background in DevOps toolchains (CI/CD pipelines, GitOps) and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, scripting) to streamline development and deployment workflows.
• Java Frameworks: Experience with modern Java frameworks (Spring Boot) and their integration with cloud-native ecosystems.
• Developer Experience (DevEx): Ability to design and improve developer tools, platforms, and workflows to enhance productivity, reduce friction, and foster adoption of cloud-native practices.
• You are fluent in English (oral and written). Basic knowledge of Dutch or French is an asset.
