Bnewable GmbH is seeking an IT Support Engineer to keep our internal IT running securely and efficiently in a Mechelen hybrid environment. You will be the first point of contact for colleagues and own the broader IT security and governance journey, including 365 configuration and external vendor coordination.

• Familiarity with NIS2 and ISO 27001 requirements with external advisors support.

Do you enjoy solving IT issues quickly and then making sure they don't come back? As our IT Support Engineer, you keep Bnewable's internal IT running reliably, securely and efficiently. You're the first point of contact for colleagues when technology gets in the way. You also own the bigger picture: Microsoft 365 security, our NIS2 and ISO 27001 compliance journey, our IT vendors, and the rollout of AI tooling. As we grow, you make sure our IT helps the business move forward instead of slowing it down.

You report to the Head of Technology and work with every team in the company.

Be the go-to person for everyday IT

• Provide first- and second-line support for our internal systems, tools and workplace technology, troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.


• Make onboarding and offboarding smooth: accounts, access rights and equipment, ready on day one.


• Keep laptops, peripherals and collaboration tools in good shape. Monitor the health and availability of our internal systems and handle routine maintenance and updates.


• Document common issues, solutions and procedures so the next fix is faster.

Own Microsoft 365 and security

• Configure and harden our Microsoft 365 environment, covering identity, access, mail, endpoint and data protection.


• Turn IT policies and security standards into everyday practice.


• Lead our NIS2 and ISO 27001 implementation with the support of external advisors: building, maintaining and auditing the documentation and controls.

Manage our IT partners

• Own relationships with IT and security vendors, including contracts, SLAs, performance reviews and renewals, within approved budgets.


• Coordinate with vendors and specialists when complex or recurring issues need escalation.

Bring in smart tooling and AI

• Evaluate, introduce and manage AI tools for internal use, from tool selection and setup to access governance and usage guidelines.


• Identify where new tooling can support our business goals, then set it up.


• Continuously improve our IT processes, service quality and user experience.


• This role has no direct reports. You lead through ownership: the quality, reliability and security of the IT service you deliver.


• You have at least 3 years of experience in IT support, helpdesk or IT operations, supporting end users in a professional environment


• A solid understanding of common operating systems, workplace tools and networking basics


• Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365, including security and compliance configuration


• Experience with user management, device provisioning and access control


• A good grasp of IT security best practices and data protection principles


• Experience managing IT and security vendors, including contracts and SLAs


• Familiarity with NIS2 and ISO 27001 requirements. You won't be doing this alone, because external advisors support the implementation.


• Working knowledge of AI tools and experience setting them up for business use


• A service mindset and the ability to explain technical topics clearly to colleagues with any level of IT knowledge


• A good command of English, spoken and written. Other languages are a plus.
