Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a Belgium-based organization to recruit an IT Operations & Cybersecurity Specialist. This remote, hands-on role focuses on daily IT administration, user support, device management, and security improvements across multiple clients.

You will work with cloud productivity platforms, endpoint management tools, and automation to maintain secure and compliant environments. An autonomous, asynchronous culture supports continuous learning and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Two+ years hands-on experience in IT operations, helpdesk, or systems administration.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace including user/groups and security policies.
• Familiarity with MDM solutions (Intune, Jamf) and device enrolment/configuration.
• Scripting experience in PowerShell, Bash, or Python and ability to automate tasks.
• Strong written/spoken English; German is a plus.
• Ability to work remotely across time zones with proactive communication.
• Preferred certifications: Microsoft 365 Administrator/Endpoint Administrator, or Google Workspace Administrator.
• Exposure to ISO 27001, SOC 2 or similar security/compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Provision and manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and licenses in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.
• Onboard Windows and macOS devices into MDM and coordinate remote handovers.
• Handle first-line IT support requests and escalate complex incidents as needed.
• Perform weekly maintenance checks on patches, backups, security alerts, and system health.
• Document fixes, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for consistency.
• Dedicate about 20% of time to security initiatives (CVE research, hardening scripts, incident response playbooks).
• Identify opportunities to streamline IT workflows and improve service delivery across distributed clients.

Join a distributed technology team dedicated to delivering reliable IT operations and strengthening cybersecurity for organisations that handle sensitive data. In this remote, hands‑on role, you will manage day‑to‑day IT administration, support users, and maintain secure digital environments for multiple clients. You will work with modern cloud productivity platforms, endpoint management tools, and automation technologies to ensure systems remain secure, compliant, and operational. Beyond routine IT support, you will contribute to security initiatives involving vulnerability research, device hardening, and incident response documentation. Accountabilities

• IT Administration: Provision and manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and licences across Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, ensuring secure and efficient access to business applications.
• Endpoint Management: Prepare and onboard Windows and macOS laptops into mobile device management (MDM) platforms, coordinate remote device handovers, and maintain appropriate device configurations.
• Technical Support: Handle first‑line support requests, including password resets, access issues, and routine troubleshooting, while escalating more complex incidents when necessary.
• IT Maintenance and Monitoring: Conduct weekly maintenance checks covering software patch status, backup logs, security alerts, and general system health to help maintain reliable operations.
• Documentation and Process Improvement: Document technical fixes, standard operating procedures, and runbooks to improve consistency, knowledge sharing, and operational efficiency.
• Cybersecurity Projects: Dedicate approximately 20% of your time to security‑focused initiatives, including CVE research and briefings, laptop hardening scripts, incident‑response playbooks, and ISO 27001 checklist development.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline IT workflows, strengthen security practices, and improve service delivery across a distributed client environment.

Requirements

• Professional Experience: At least two years of hands‑on experience in IT operations, helpdesk support, systems administration, or a comparable technical role.
• Cloud Administration: Practical experience administering Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, including user and group management, security policies, permissions, and basic troubleshooting.
• Endpoint Management: Familiarity with MDM solutions such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, or equivalent platforms, including device enrolment and configuration.
• Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python, with the ability to automate routine tasks and improve operational workflows.
• Communication Skills: Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to document technical processes clearly and collaborate effectively with distributed teams. German language skills are an advantage.
• Remote Working Readiness: A reliable internet connection, a professional remote working environment, and the ability to work independently across different time zones.
• Personal Attributes: A proactive, organised, and detail‑oriented approach, with strong troubleshooting skills, sound judgement, and a willingness to learn and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Preferred Qualifications: Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator, or Google Workspace Administrator certifications are advantageous.
• Security Knowledge: Exposure to cybersecurity and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar standards is a plus.
