Sogeti Belgium is seeking an IT Functional Analyst with a payments background to bridge business and IT, analyze processes, gather requirements, and translate them into functional specs for IT solutions.

You will collaborate with developers, testers, and project managers through the lifecycle, provide training, and identify process improvements while supporting end users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master degree in IT, Business, or related field.
• Proven experience as Functional or Business Analyst with understanding of business processes and IT systems.
• Strong knowledge of payments fundamentals, including lifecycle and merchant/bank processes.
• Experience with SQL, ERP/CRM; familiarity with Agile or Waterfall methodologies.

Job Description

We are looking for an IT Functional Analyst with a background in payments to act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams. You will analyze business processes, gather requirements, and translate them into functional specifications for IT solutions. Your role ensures that systems and applications meet business needs and deliver value.

JOB PROFILE

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements through workshops, interviews, and process analysis, with a strong focus on payments and financial flows.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications and ensure alignment with technical teams.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and project managers throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support solution design and validate that delivered functionality meets requirements.
• Provide training and support to end-users and create documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization.

YOUR PROFILE

• You are located in Belgium and speak fluently Dutch and English; You hold a Bachelor/Master degree in IT, Business, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Functional or Business Analyst with a solid understanding of business processes and IT systems.
• Strong knowledge of payment fundamentals, including lifecycle (authorization, clearing, settlement, reconciliation), ecosystem roles, and merchant/bank processes.Awareness of payment methods and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear functional specifications and process documentation.
• Experience with SQL, basic data analysis, and enterprise systems (ERP, CRM); familiarity with Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
• Excellent communication skills with strong stakeholder management capabilities.
