Job summary

Projective Group is seeking a Payments Business Analyst to help banks and payment providers navigate next-generation payments. You will translate client needs into solutions across SEPA, SWIFT, instant payments, cards and open banking within transformation programmes for top financial institutions.

You will work at the intersection of business and technology, run workshops, document requirements, support platform implementations, and ensure regulatory alignment (PSD2, ISO 20022).

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within Financial Services with exposure to payments.
• Solid understanding of payments processes (SEPA, SWIFT, cards, instant payments, reconciliation).
• Experience with regulatory/industry standards such as PSD2, ISO 20022, or open banking APIs is an advantage.
• Proven ability to gather requirements, run workshops, and translate needs into functional specs.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence.

Payments Business Analyst – Financial Services | Consulting | Brussels | Projective Group | €3.3k - €5k / month

Join our Payments team as a Business Analyst and work on project ranging from ISO 20022 migrations and instant payments to open banking and payment platform transformations for leading financial institutions such as Belfius, ING, P&V, Euroclear and SWIFT.

What will you do?

As a Payments Business Analyst, you will operate at the intersection of business and technology, translating client needs into impactful solutions across payments transformation programmes. You will:

• Review and document business requirements related to payments domains such as SEPA, SWIFT, cards, instant payments, and open banking.
• Act as the bridge between stakeholders (business, IT, vendors, regulators), ensuring alignment and clarity throughout project lifecycles.
• Support implementation of payment platforms, core banking transformations, and regulatory-led initiatives (e.g. PSD2, ISO 20022 migration).
• Facilitate workshops, define functional specifications, and validate solutions through testing and acceptance phases.
• Contribute to process optimisation and digital innovation initiatives within payments operations.
• Stay on top of market trends, technologies, and regulatory developments within the European payments landscape.

Your skills and qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of business English and Dutch or French
• 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst within Financial Services, with exposure to payments.
• Solid understanding of payment processes (SEPA, SWIFT, cards, instant payments, reconciliation flows).
• Experience in regulatory or industry standards such as PSD2, ISO 20022, or open banking APIs is an advantage.
• Proven ability to gather requirements, guide workshops, and translate business needs into functional specifications.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence).
