Job summary

Vandewiele, a world leader in textile machinery and mechatronics, is seeking a skilled IT leader to drive CAD and PLM solutions across the Vandewiele Group. You will connect business, engineering and IT to align systems with the needs of various units.

You will own CAD/PLM applications, lead implementations and upgrades, and ensure reliable product information for design, production preparation, assembly, spare parts and service, while guiding users and improving processes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or equivalent; IT systems in logistics or production environments are a necessity.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to communicate with senior management and external partners.
• Experience or exposure to change management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the implementation, rollout and continuous optimization of CAD and PLM solutions across Vandewiele Group.
• Own the CAD/PLM applications, ensuring they meet organisational needs across engineering domains.
• Ensure the PLM platform provides reliable, structured product information for design, production prep, assembly, service and customer support.
• Translate business requirements into functional solutions and process improvements.
• Lead projects related to CAD/PLM implementations, upgrades, integrations and harmonisation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to align processes, data structures and workflows.

Our 400 colleagues at Vandewiele Marke (HQ) are working on the next generation of smart and interconnected textile machines, with close interaction between R&D and production. We have a state-of-the-art production system, in which our fully automated production process is realized in-house.

The IT team in Marke has about twenty colleagues and consists of 2 sub-teams: Infrastructure and Business Applications. Together with the IT suppliers, we provide service to the entire Vandewiele Group.

Your function

As the person responsible for our CAD and PLM solutions, you play a key role in the further digitalisation and optimisation of our engineering processes within the Vandewiele Group. You connect business, engineering and IT, ensuring that our systems and processes are aligned with the needs of the different companies and business units.

• You coordinate the implementation, rollout and continuous optimisation of CAD and PLM solutions across the different companies and business units of the Vandewiele Group.
• You take functional ownership of the CAD/PLM applications, ensuring they meet the needs of the organisation and the various engineering domains.
• You ensure that the PLM platform provides reliable and structured product information throughout the organisation, supporting areas such as design, technical documentation, production preparation, assembly, spare parts, field service and customer service.
• You gather and analyse business requirements and translate them into functional solutions, process improvements and project initiatives.
• You lead and coordinate projects related to implementations, upgrades, integrations, harmonisation and optimisation of CAD/PLM systems and processes.
• You work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to align processes, data structures, workflows and system usage.
• You actively contribute to strong application governance by helping define and maintain standards, data quality rules, release processes and best practices.
• You coordinate support activities, follow up on functional issues and ensure clear communication and guidance for users.
• Finally, you drive the adoption and effective use of CAD/PLM tools and processes. You explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible way, support users and proactively identify opportunities for further improvement.

You report directly to the IT Manager Business Applications.

Your profile

• You have a Master's degree or equivalent through experience. Experience with IT systems in logistics or production environments is a necessity
• You possess a sharp analytical mind, capable of tackling and solving complex problems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills are a must, as you’ll need to communicate and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including senior management, IT teams, and external partners.
• Experience in change management is highly desirable.
• Besides Dutch, you can express yourself in English. French is a plus.
