KU Leuven invites applications for a one-year, full-time doctoral fellowship in the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies, starting 1 February 2027 with renewal possible. The project, led by Prof. Marianne Moyaert and Prof.

Nadia Fadil, explores interreligious dialogical learning and uses ethnographic methods within Flemish education. Qualifications include a Research Master’s degree in theology/religious studies or related fields, strong qualitative research experience, and excellent Dutch

Qualifications

• Earned or to be earned by start of appointment the specified Research Master’s degree.
• Strong interest in qualitative empirical research and ethnographic methods.
• Fluent in Dutch for fieldwork and good command of English for academic writing.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and conduct qualitative and ethnographic research on interreligious dialogical learning in Flemish education.
• Collect empirical data using interviews, observations, and document analysis.
• Analyze how dialogical practices are shaped by power relations, normativity, inclusion/exclusion, and ethical education.
• Contribute to theoretical development by linking findings to theology, anthropology, and educational sciences.
• Publish scholarly articles and defend a doctoral dissertation; present findings at conferences.
