Job summary

KPMG Lighthouse in Zaventem invites final-year Master students to join the Data & AI internship for 2026-2027. You will support core Lighthouse services including AI strategy, data governance, BI analytics, and automated digital solutions on real client projects.

You will perform research, run experiments, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and document findings while gaining hands-on experience in cutting-edge AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's student in computer science/engineering or related data/tech field.
• Fluent in Dutch or French and English.
• Strong interest in IT and business processes.

Responsibilities

• Performing research on industry trends, emerging technologies and competitive analysis.
• Design and run experiments / proof-of-concepts; analyze results and provide recommendations.
• Collaborating with data scientists, engineers, and business analysts.
• Documentation and reporting of methodologies and findings.
• Creating marketing material to promote Lighthouse's services.

As an intern with The Lighthouse (Data & AI) team, you will support one of our core services, which include:

• AI Strategy & Transformation: Creating a vision and strategy, developing and implementing a transformation roadmap around data and AI.
• Data Management and Digital Governance: Building trust in data by establishing governance, processes, and technologies for data management.
• Business Intelligence and Analytics: Enabling businesses and people by delivering actionable data and insights to support decision-making.
• Advanced Analytics and Machine Learning: Leveraging advanced analytics by understanding the strengths and limitations of these techniques to maximize returns from analytics and AI initiatives.
• Intelligent Automation and New Tech: Creating strategy and operating models for sustainable human/robot co-existence through radical innovation and leveraging new technologies.
• Digital Solution Architecture Development: Providing technical support to drive digital transformation and next-generation architectures.

Depending on your background and interest we can define your focus areas and responsibilities together. In your role you will typically support some of the following activities:

• Performing research: conduct in-depth research on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive analysis. Present your findings to the team, providing valuable insights to inform strategic decisions and business development.
• Conduct experiments / proof-of-concepts: Design and implement innovative experiments to test new ideas, algorithms, and solutions. Analyze results and provide actionable recommendations for improvements and next steps.
• Collaborating with teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business analysts. Contribute to team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
• Documentation and reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of project work, methodologies, and findings. Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate results to stakeholders.
• Creating marketing material: Develop and design engaging marketing content to promote The Lighthouse's services. This includes writing articles, creating compelling presentations, and designing eye-catching infographics that showcase our capabilities and achievements.

Skills & Qualifications

You are a Master student in computer siences, industrial engineering, (applied) informatics, business and information systems engineering or any data / tech related study or equivalent (major/minor).

While academic qualifications are important, there are several other main competences we highly value, including:

• Strong client orientation and being a real team player

• Fluent in Dutch or French and English
