Description:

Roles & Responsibilities

The fundamental role of an auditor is to report to the shareholders as to whether the company's annual accounts show a true and fair view of the company's financial activity. As well as to ensure that the accounts are presented in conformity with the prevailing legal and regulatory requirements.

An auditor at KPMG, you will be doing much more than just looking at the company's financial records. You'll be finding out as much as you can about the whole company, the way it works, its products or services, its technology, its competitors and the industry in which it operates.

As an audit-trainee you'll be working within an audit team, where you'll assist in the audit of the annual account of several clients. This includes amongst other things:

  • Updating the audit plan and the risk-analysis
  • Following-up the confirmation procedure
  • Verifying different sections of the cash balances and financial statements by using audit tools
  • Monitoring the administrative organization and the internal controls
  • As an audit-trainee you'll be working both at the client and at the office.
  • An internship in our Audit department gives you the opportunity to put your theoretical knowledge to use.

Skills & Qualifications
  • You will soon hold a Master degree in Management, Commercial or Business Engineering, Commercial Sciences or (Applied) Economic Sciences.
  • A background in Accountancy is an asset.
  • We’re looking for students with excellent proficiency in Dutch, and a good command of English.
  • While we believe academic qualifications are an important pointer as to how you might succeed at our firm, these are far from being the only thing you'll be assessed on.

There are several other capabilities we believe you'll need to demonstrate while you’re with KPMG:

  • Client centricity
  • Team work
  • Problem solving skills
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Communication skills (English, Dutch and French)

At KPMG, you’re more than "the intern". You’re part of the team from day one. We believe the best learning happens when you roll up your sleeves, work alongside experienced colleagues, and get involved in real projects that make an impact.

You’ll join a dynamic and supportive environment where collaboration, knowledge sharing, and personal growth are part of everyday life. You’ll sharpen your technical skills, grow your professional network, and discover what kind of career excites you most. We’ll help you get there!

As a Top Employer, we invest heavily in learning and development, giving you access to experienced professionals, coaching, and opportunities to learn far beyond the classroom. You'll also have access to the latest tools, technology, and resources so you can focus on doing your best work.

And because internships should be rewarding too, you'll receive:

  • An allowance of €15 per worked day
  • Reimbursement of your commuting expenses
  • Hands-on experience with real clients and projects
  • The opportunity to build your network and learn from experts across different teams
  • A friendly, informal, and inclusive workplace where you can truly be yourself
  • Most importantly, you'll get a genuine taste of life at KPMG and the chance to explore where your future career could take you.
