Job summary

EngiFlex BV in Belgium seeks an experienced Team Manager ad interim for the GIS team within the Digital Business Solutions IT department. You will lead a cross-functional group delivering GIS and asset management solutions used by field and office teams.

You will set priorities, manage the project portfolio, coach team members, ensure delivery within scope and budget, and maintain stable operations with appropriate incident/change management.

Qualifications

• Fluent in French and able to work in a Belgian IT environment.
• Solid experience as an IT Manager or coordinating an IT team in a medium/large organization.
• Experience leading an IT delivery team of at least 8 FTE.
• Senior-level experience in project management.
• Familiar with ITIL and daily operational ICT management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of around ten (analysts, developers, PMs and a technical architect).
• Set priorities and align capacity with workload.
• Coach team members and support individual growth.
• Manage the project portfolio linked to the GIS roadmap.
• Collaborate with business and architecture teams to evolve the domain.
• Ensure delivery within agreed scope, budget and timing.
• Oversee maintenance and user support; manage incidents and changes per SLA.
• Monitor the application landscape and drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in the management team reporting to the head of department.

Tasks and responsibilities

Within the Digital Business Solutions (IT) department, the Works, GIS & Customer unit supports and improves processes and applications linked to work management, asset management, network planning and customer relationship management. In this context, the GIS team manages and further develops the GIS and asset management landscape used by both office-based and field teams.

The GIS environment acts as a central platform for asset data management across several energy domains, including electricity, gas, public lighting and fiber optics. The platform includes desktop and web-based GIS applications and is connected to other core systems such as workforce management and ADMS.

For this assignment, we are looking for an experienced Team Manager ad interim to lead the GIS team and ensure the continuity of operations and delivery.

• You lead a team of around ten people, including application analysts, developers, project leaders and a technical architect.
• You set priorities for the team and align capacity with workload.
• You keep the team engaged and support individual growth through coaching.
• You manage the project portfolio linked to the GIS roadmap.
• You work closely with business stakeholders and architecture teams to define and support the evolution of the domain.
• You are accountable for delivery within agreed scope, budget and timing.
• You oversee corrective and evolutionary maintenance of the applications in scope, as well as user support.
• You organize the handling of incidents and change requests in line with internal processes and SLA commitments.
• You ensure proper monitoring of the application landscape and support stable, efficient operations.
• You manage the budgets required for the team's activities.
• You drive continuous improvement within the team.
• You are part of the management team and report to the head of department.

Your profile

• You are fluent in French.
• You have solid experience as an IT Manager or in coordinating an IT team within a medium-sized or large organization.
• You have experience leading an IT delivery team of at least 8 FTE.
• You bring senior-level experience in project management.
• You are familiar with ITIL.
• You have experience in the daily operational management of an ICT organization and in leading team members.
• Knowledge of the utilities sector is required.
• You have strong experience with GIS environments.
• Experience with Hexagon Networks technology is an important asset.
