EVA bxl is seeking an interim executive director to temporarily lead the organization, ensure continuity, and collaborate with the team and board to advance social goals in Brussels.

The role requires strategic leadership, hands-on management, and a commitment to social entrepreneurship. The position offers a hybrid work model and a replacement contract aligned with PC329.01, Level L1.

Qualifications

• Relevant management experience in the social sector, public sector, or social enterprises.
• Experience with strategic policy, organizational development, and change processes.
• Knowledge of financial management and HR management.
• Understanding of governance and collaboration with governing bodies.
• Strong communication skills and political and administrative acumen.
• Experience with grant and funding processes.
• Good understanding of the Brussels social landscape and its key players.
• Affinity for the issues EVA bxl is active in, such as welfare, healthcare, education, employment, and housing.
• Excellent command of Dutch and a good knowledge of French.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and drive strategic development of EVA bxl in line with mission and vision.
• Work closely with the governing body, prepare policy decisions, and ensure transparent reporting.
• Lead the team, support employees, and foster an inclusive organizational culture.
• Monitor financial management, budget, and financial health.
• Oversee high-quality internal operations including HR, IT, infrastructure, and organizational development.
• Represent EVA bxl in Brussels social and policy landscape.
• Translate field insights into policy recommendations and support political advocacy.
• Contribute to grant applications, fundraising, and sustainable financing.
