Job summary

argenx in Gent is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead parts of the discovery pipeline from a biology perspective and guide multiple project teams with a collaborative leadership style.

You will shape scientific direction, assess new opportunities, and mentor junior scientists while advancing novel therapeutics to patients in a dynamic biotech setting. Onsite presence is required for effective teamwork.

Qualifications

• PhD in immunology or related field with at least 8 years of post-PhD research experience.
• At least 6 years in project-based biotech or biopharmaceutical industry.
• Deep knowledge of innate and adaptive immunity with ability to translate biology into experiments.

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific oversight of parts of the discovery pipeline.
• Lead and develop project teams with a non-hierarchical, empowering style.
• Shape longer‑term scientific direction and assess new opportunities.
• Coach and grow the next generation of scientists and leaders.
• Represent argenx in forums and partnership discussions.
