Job summary

WLG in Mons, Belgium, seeks a senior technician to manage and secure its IaaS platform across on-premises, private and public cloud with a strong Linux focus. You will run, improve and patch the platform, leveraging VMware ESXi, vSAN, RHEL/Oracle Linux, and automation via Ansible and Bash.

You will also perform OS upgrades, security hardening, and maintain documentation, CMDBs, and diagrams while coordinating maintenance windows and on-call shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant experience or 6 years with a secondary qualification.
• Strong Linux and Windows administration experience.
• Experience with Red Hat Satellite, Ansible and Bash.
• Knowledge of security hardening and patch management.

Responsibilities

• Keep IaaS services running on-premises and in private/public cloud.
• Provision, administer and troubleshoot RHEL and Oracle Linux estates.
• Build automation and IaC with Ansible and Bash.
• Run OS upgrades and patching through Red Hat Satellite, enforcing security controls.

A multinational defence organisation in Mons runs Infrastructure as a Service across on-premises, private and public cloud. It is looking for a senior technician to run, improve and secure that platform, with a strong Linux focus.

What You Would Be Doing

• Keeping IaaS services running smoothly on-premises and in private and public cloud
• Provisioning, administering and troubleshooting RHEL and Oracle Linux 8 to 10 estates
• Building automation and infrastructure as code with Ansible Automation Platform and Bash
• Running OS upgrades and patching through Red Hat Satellite, and enforcing security controls
• Tuning load balancers, following change management and keeping the CMDB and diagrams current
• Writing procedures, reports and briefings, and joining maintenance windows and on-call when needed

What you would bring

• Higher vocational training with 4 years of relevant experience, or 6 years with a secondary qualification
• VMware ESXi, blade and rack servers and hyperconverged infrastructure (vSAN)
• Strong Linux and Windows administration, including Active Directory, hardening and patching
• Red Hat Satellite, Ansible and Bash, plus Linux security: firewalls and mandatory access controls
• Hands-on public and private cloud (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and enterprise load balancing
• Clear documentation and communication; virtualisation, Linux or cloud certifications are a plus
