Job summary

Televic Rail is seeking a security-focused software engineer to ensure products are secure by design. You will develop reusable security building blocks, enable secure updates, and integrate cryptography and authentication across embedded and backend systems.

You'll blend hands-on engineering with architectural thinking, working across Linux-based environments (Debian/Yocto) and languages like C++ or Java, while advancing DevSecOps practices and security standards such as IEC 62443 and CRA.

Qualifications

• Strong background or interest in software engineering and cybersecurity.
• Solid understanding of authentication, cryptography basics, secure updates and system hardening.
• Experience with Linux-based environments (Debian, Yocto or similar) and Python development.
• Experience with technologies such as C++ or Java, DevSecOps practices, or security standards like IEC 62443 and Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reusable security components across products and technologies.
• Develop solutions such as secrets management, PKI, secure updates, security logging, and system hardening.
• Ensure these solutions are scalable, maintainable, and easy to integrate by product and project teams.
• Implement security features in products and platforms and support integration of reusable building blocks.
• Contribute to the company-wide cybersecurity roadmap.
• Automate security testing (static analysis in CI/CD, dynamic testing on test environments).
• Ensure consistent application of security controls across products and contribute to secure architecture patterns and secure-by-design principles.
• Support threat modeling and define security controls.
• Act as a technical security partner for product and project teams.
• Help teams adopt reusable security solutions and best practices.
• Share knowledge and contribute to improving the overall security maturity.
