microTECH Global LTD is seeking a QHSE Engineer to join its European Health & Safety team. The role focuses on implementing policies, conducting risk assessments and leading incident investigations across Belgium and the Netherlands.

The ideal candidate has a engineering background with a Health & Safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH/CQA/IMEA) and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Fluent English; Dutch or French is a plus. On-site Belgian operations with international travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or engineering qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH, NEBOSH, CQA, IMEA or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a Health & Safety, QHSE, Prevention or similar engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation in Belgium and/or the Netherlands.
  • Experience with risk assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations.

Responsabilités

  • Implement and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and work instructions in line with Belgian and Dutch legislation.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and systematic risk assessments covering facilities, machinery and semiconductor equipment.
  • Identify workplace hazards and recommend appropriate corrective, preventative and improvement measures.
  • Ensure suitable technical, physical and organisational controls are in place to prevent accidents and occupational illnesses.
  • Work closely with internal departments on QHSE matters and support safety of field-based personnel at customer sites.
  • Act as a key point of contact with relevant regulatory and government authorities.
  • Lead investigations into workplace accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Prepare incident reports and liaise with authorities where legally required.
  • Monitor regional QHSE performance and prepare reports, KPIs and management updates.
  • Develop and deliver employee and management training on workplace safety, hazardous materials, emergency response, hygiene and compliance.

Description du poste

Location: Belgium - onsite working required

We are working with a leading semiconductor manufacturer with operations across Belgium and the Netherlands, who are looking for a QHSE Engineer to join their European Health & Safety team.

This is a key role responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy and compliant working environment across the region. You will play an important part in developing and implementing QHSE policies, conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, delivering training and driving a strong culture of continuous improvement.

The role would suit an experienced Health & Safety professional with an engineering or technical background who enjoys working across departments and taking ownership of regional QHSE initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and work instructions in line with Belgian and Dutch legislation.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and systematic risk assessments covering facilities, machinery and semiconductor equipment.
  • Identify workplace hazards and recommend appropriate corrective, preventative and improvement measures.
  • Ensure suitable technical, physical and organisational controls are in place to prevent accidents and occupational illnesses.

  • Develop and deliver employee and management training covering areas such as workplace safety, hazardous materials, emergency response, hygiene and compliance.
  • Promote awareness of occupational risks and encourage safe working practices throughout the organisation.
  • Support the development and regular review of emergency response and preparedness plans.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, standards and best practices.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and external contacts.
  • Provide QHSE expertise, guidance and coaching across the organisation.
  • Travel within the region and internationally when required by business needs.
About You:
  • A Bachelor's degree, engineering qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and experience gained through employment, apprenticeships or other relevant routes.
  • A recognised Health & Safety qualification such as IOSH, NEBOSH, CQA, IMEA or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a Health & Safety, QHSE, Prevention or similar engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation in Belgium and/or the Netherlands.
  • Experience with risk assessments, workplace inspections and incident investigations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify hazards and develop effective preventative measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Experience delivering safety training and communicating QHSE requirements to employees and management.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Fluent English is essential. Dutch and/or French would be advantageous.
  • The ability to act as a subject matter expert, supporting and mentoring colleagues and contributing to projects.
